Nine years ago, I found JoJo on a street in jersey city she was in terrible shape, and the vets weren’t sure she was going to survive but she did i brought her home, and somehow, instantly, she was mine On august 12, 2026, she left my world exactly the way she came into it — unexpectedly she had been fine, until suddenly she wasn’t, and i had to make the hardest decision we ever have to make for the animals we love we always called her our sloth dog because jojo did absolutely nothing quickly. she moved through life entirely on her own time she was deaf, slept beside my bed every single night, and from the moment we brought gianna home, she quietly appointed herself her little guardian she was probably the lowest-maintenance dog i’ve ever had, yet somehow her presence filled so much of our home and now the house feels impossibly empty i’ll miss that beautiful little face, her square nose, that unforgettable underbite, and simply knowing she was there we never knew exactly how old jojo was, but we believe she was at least 14 what i do know is that i was lucky enough to have nine years with her nine years of being her mom nine years that began with finding a little dog on a street who wasn’t supposed to make it and ended with me having the privilege of making sure she didn’t have to suffer it’s extraordinary how much space such a little life can occupy in your heart her presence was truly a gift i hope somehow she knew just how deeply she was loved and i hope she knew that finding her was one of the great privileges of my life sleep peacefully, my sweet jojo my little sloth dog 🤍 the last nine years were an honor
